Michkov arrived in a big way for the Flyers in this matchup, scoring two goals less than five minutes apart. With his first goal, the 19-year-old winger worked hard in front of the net before finally jamming the puck past Stuart Skinner. Then, Michkov perfectly one-timed a Morgan Frost feed past Skinner for his second goal of the game.

Michkov putting up a big two-goal game in this specific matchup came at a wonderful time, even with the Flyers losing. This is because Michkov is one of the game’s brightest future stars and scored his first NHL goals against the team that currently has the league’s best player: Connor McDavid. This was a great way for Michkov to show the league that he’s the real deal.
With this excellent performance, Michkov now has two goals and an assist in his first three games. The 5-foot-10 forward is certainly impressing early and already stands out as an early candidate for the Calder Memorial Trophy.
