Four OHL players named to U.S. roster for World Junior Summer Showcase – Ontario Hockey League

USA Hockey unveiled its 44-player roster for the 2023 World Junior Summer Showcase to be held at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan from July 27 to August 4, one that includes four OHL players receiving invitations.

The World Junior Summer Showcase also includes entries from Finland and Sweden as the three nations use the camp as an evaluation for the 2024 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship to be held from Dec. 26, 2023 through Jan. 5, 2024 in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Of the 44 players expected to attend, Saginaw Spirit netminder Andrew Oke is one of two players that competed on both the bronze medal-winning 2023 U.S. World Junior Team in addition to the 2022 National Junior squad. Chicago Blackhawks prospect Gavin Hayes of the Flint Firebirds joins 2023 NHL Draft prospects Quentin Musty of the Sudbury Wolves and Hunter Brzustewicz of the Kitchener Rangers in also receiving invitations.

The 2024 U.S. National Junior Team is being coached by David Carle. The United States has medalled in six of the last eight IIHF World Junior Championships.
