Frank Seravalli thinks Noah Gregor has a really good chance of earning a contract with Toronto: Leafs Morning Take

The boys are back in town, baby!

T-minus one sleep until the start of Maple Leafs training camp. I mean, they’ll actually officially hit the ice on Thursday, but you get the point. We’re excited. Who isn’t?

I’m not complaining but where did summer go? Who cares.

At any rate, Jay Rosehill and I got together for a training camp primer ahead of media day on Wednesday. As per usual, we covered a lot of ground shaking the cobwebs off from what was a busy offseason for the both of us. Lots of drinks were had —that’s for sure. And now, we’re ready to get back in the saddle covering the greatest team on earth.

We kicked things off by talking about who’s under the gun the most to perform in training camp. Spoiler: It’s all about the bubble guys. All in all, we both agreed that Brad Treliving had himself a nice and tidy first offseason as general manager. In theory, this team should be tougher to play against, especially in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. We’ll see in the spring.

Additionally, we addressed the elephant in the room: William Nylander remains unsigned past this season. Also, we dissected some of the additions —including Ryan Reaves. What does he need to do to make a difference for this team?

Meantime, we also welcomed in Frank Seravalli to bring some insider knowledge to some of pertinent topics surrounding this team entering camp. “I think they’re pretty comfortable from the Nylander camp perspective of, ‘let’s play this out. Let’s see what happens’,” Seravalli said. Gentleman, start your engines. It will be fascinating to see how this unfolds.

If you haven’t already, don’t forget to subscribe, like, and leave us a review wherever you’re checking us out. Season No. 2 of Leafs Morning Take is just around the corner!
