The Brock Badgers men’s hockey program announced this past week via Twitter (@BrockMensHockey) that Kingston Frontenacs overage graduate Jacob Roach has committed for the 2021-22 season.

A 20-year-old from Brooklin, Ont., Roach spent the 2019-20 season with the Guelph Storm, recording 23 points (12-11–23) over 60 games. He joined Guelph following an impressive 2018-19 campaign with the St. Catharines Falcons Jr. B club, recording 93 points (29-64–93) over 47 games before tacking on 43 points (13-30–43) in just 17 playoff contests.

Roach was acquired by the Frontenacs in September 2020, intending to join the club for his overage season before the 2020-21 campaign was called off due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

A graduate of the Whitby Wildcats U16 program, Roach was an eighth round (148th overall) pick of the Sudbury Wolves in the 2016 OHL Priority Selection. He’ll be studying Sport Management at Brock.

The Badgers played .500 hockey during the 2019-20 season, finishing in the middle of the OUA West Division under head coach Marty Williamson.
