The Brock University Badgers men’s hockey program has announced that former Oshawa Generals forward Ryan Stepien has committed for the 2023-24 season.

Drafted in the third round (41st overall) by the Saginaw Spirit in the 2017 OHL Priority Selection, the Stoney Creek, Ont. native played four seasons in the OHL, splitting his time between Oshawa, Saginaw, and the Kitchener Rangers. Stepien recorded 103 points scoring 52 goals and 51 assists (52-51-103) in 232 games over his OHL tenure.

“Brock is close to home, and I’ve consistently heard great things about the men’s hockey program and staff,” said Stepien. “I’m excited to further my education while playing hockey for a great school.”

The 5-foot-11, 172lb. right-winger is no stranger to U Sports, spending last season at the University of Prince Edward Island where he recorded six points (4-2-6) over 20 games played.

Stepien will study Sport Management in the fall.
