Toronto, Ont. – The Ontario Hockey League today announced that Jacob Oster of the Oshawa Generals is the OHL Goaltender of the Week with back-to-back shutouts, stopping all 49 shots that came his way in victories over Kingston and North Bay.

Oster’s first career OHL shutout came Friday in Kingston as he stopped all 19 shots he faced while Calum Ritchie scored twice in a 2-0 road win over the Frontenacs. He continued his run of perfection on Sunday, making 30 saves for second star recognition as the Generals blanked the Central Division-leading North Bay Battalion 4-0 on home ice. Oster has now played nearly 140 consecutive minutes of shutout hockey dating back to January 19th.

An 18-year-old from Ottawa, Ont., Oster owns a record of 12-13-2-0 with a 4.07 goals-against average and .864 save percentage in 30 games between Oshawa and Guelph this season. The 6-foot-3, 190Ib. netminder is 3-1 with a 1.00 goals-against average and .965 save percentage in his four games with the Generals. Oster was Guelph’s fifth round (92nd overall) pick in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection from the Kemptville 73’s U18 program.
