While it is just a rookie tournament in mid-September, NHL hockey is back.
In the first game of the 2024 Rookie Faceoff tournament yesterday in El Segundo, CA at the Toyota Sports Performance Center, the Golden Knights rookies defeated the Los Angeles Kings rookies 2-0.
The Knights got goals from undrafted prospect Braeden Bowman and 2021 4th round pick Jakub Brabenec.

Bowman, 21, is in the Golden Knights rookie camp after playing the last 4 seasons for the Guelph Storm in the OHL.
Brabenec, 21, .turned pro last season and joined the Golden Knights AHL affiliate the Henderson Silver Knights, scoring 13 points in 48 games played.
The Knights got a combined shutout from goalies Jesper Vikman and Carl Lindbom.
Vikman, 22, was drafted back in the 2020 NHL draft, 125th overall by the Golden Knights. Vikman already has pro experience under his belt as he played in 34 games last season between the Silver Knights of the AHL and the Savannah Ghost Pirates of the ECHL.
Lindbom on the other hand, is a little more green. The 21-year-old is in North America for the first time after playing his hockey in Sweden for Farjestads BK Karlstad in the SweHL last season.
The Golden Knights’ rookies will practice later today at 1:45PM P.T. before taking on the Seattle Kraken rookies at 1:00PM P.T. tomorrow.
