Golden Knights Defenseman First Player In Franchise History To Play His First 300 Games Exclusively With The Organization

by admin

Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Nicolas Hague is the first player in franchise history to play his first 300 games exclusively with the organization.

Hague sits eighth in games played for the Golden Knights but is the first player to reach the 300-game milestone without previously playing for another franchise.

The 25-year-old was drafted in the second round of the 2017 NHL draft, 34th overall. In his first 300 games, Hague has scored 15 goals and 71 points.

Listed at 6’6, 245 lbs, the left-handed defender is a physical force on the Golden Knights’ backend. He is a capable puck mover but excels at blocking shots and clearing the front of the net. He’s been a mainstay on the Golden Knights’ penalty kill and has been reliable as they come.

Hague played in all 22 games during the Golden Knights’ Stanley Cup run averaging 18:34 of TOI and recording two goals and six points. As he gets older and continues to mature, his role and trust from the coaching staff do too.

The Kitchener, Ontario native is in the final year of the three-year, $2,294,150 AAV contract he signed making him an RFA at the end of the season.
