Vegas Golden Knights goaltender Carl Lindbom put on a stellar display in his two appearances at the 2024 NHL Rookie Faceoff.
The 21-year-old Swedish netminder split the first game with fellow prospect Jesper Vikman against the Los Angeles Kings as they combined to shut them out. Lindbom stopped all 14 shots he faced and Vikman stopped 11. On Sunday, Lindbom played all 60 minutes against the Seattle Kraken and made 18 saves on 21 shots.
The Stockholm, Sweden native is preparing for his first season in North America with the Henderson Silver Knights after spending the last three years playing professionally in Sweden. Last year with Farjestad BK in the SHL, Lindbom posted a 2.12GAA and a .911SV% in 26 games.

The 2021 seventh-round pick has developed at a faster rate than many expected but it’s been very welcomed by the Golden Knights. Lindbom signed his entry-level contract back in June of 2023.

His play at the Rookie Faceoff is what has become expected of him. He’s quick and agile in his crease but doesn’t seem to overplay or make too many unnecessary movements. Heading into the tournament, Lindbom spoke to the media about what he was looking to do in the three games.
“Just trying to get going. I haven’t played in a while. I’m trying to get the feet moving and get the speed of the game right.”
It’s a simple answer but it alludes to what Lindbom is in his crease.
Lindbom also discussed what the last three years have been like and how it’s prepared him for the AHL.
“The last three years have been great, playing pro hockey in Sweden has been great for me and great for my development. It’s been awesome.”
At the moment it’s unclear if Lindbom will start immediately with the Silver Knights but if he proves himself in training camp, he likely gets an extended run to show what he can do in the AHL.
