A special Tuesday edition of Hockey Things gets into some of the spookiest and funniest stories from around the hockey world from this past week as Halloween marked the end of October:
The Kelowna Rockets Take Dressing Up at the Workplace to the Next Level
At some places, you’re allowed to wear your Halloween outfit to work. For the Kelowna Rockets, they took that to heart by possibly becoming the first team to practise in their Halloween outfits.
As shown by the pictures, we had everything from a line of bananas to peanut butter and jelly sandwiches skating on the ice. The next step may have to be a WHL team attempting to wear their outfits in a game.
The San Jose Sharks Try to Solve What’s In the Mystery Box
Spiders can be scary, even plush ones if you’re not sure what you’re touching. James Reimer, Timo Meier and others were tasked with identifying what was inside a box by touch.
From the looks of every single player, they looked quite relieved that it was only a plush tarantula inside and not a real one.
The Honesty of Darryl Sutter Is Unmatched ‘
Sometimes when nature calls, you have to answer it. One of the more viral hockey videos going around right now is Darryl Sutter answering the question as to why Jonathan Huberdeau left the bench during Calgary’s Saturday night game versus Edmonton.
If that’s true, the honesty might be one of the funniest things we’ve ever heard from a head coach, especially with Sutter displaying a straight face for his answer. The second game of the Battle of Alberta was a thriller, but this quote has proven to be the most memorable part of the night.
