Roberto Luongo arrived at The Hockey News studio on Sunday to talk about his career and what he’s up to now ahead of his induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame on Monday Night.
Luongo spoke with W. Graeme Roustan about what it’s like to return to his hometown of Montreal nowadays and what it means to be a goalie in Quebec during the times of Patrick Roy, Martin Brodeur and Marc-Andre Fleury. They also spoke about the current struggle to get more Canadian kids to choose goaltending as a position.
Luongo will be inducted into the Hall of Fame with fellow Class of 2022 members Henrik Sedin, Daniel Sedin, Daniel Alfredsson, Riikka Sallinen and the late Herb Carnegie in Monday’s induction ceremony beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on TSN 4 and 5 and the NHL Network.
