NIAGARA, ON – The Niagara IceDogs are pleased to announce the hiring of St. Catherines native, Ben Boudreau as Associate Coach. Ben will join Head Coach Ryan Kuwabara and Assistant Coaches, Brandon Shaw, Damon Racicot and Andrew Fritsch on the IceDogs coaching staff.
“I am so happy to be coming back home to raise my boys in Canada. The Niagara IceDogs is an organization I have always wanted to be a part of. This organization is on its way up and I am excited to contribute in any way I can. It is rare in this business to have an opportunity to coach in your own backyard, so this is an opportunity my family and I are going to enjoy.”
Ben is the son of long-time NHL Head Coach, Bruce Boudreau and provides a myriad of professional coaching experience in the ECHL. The 38-year-old started his professional coaching career with the Bakersfield Condors in the ECHL where he served as an Assistant Coach for the 2014-2015 season. Followed by two seasons with the Norfolk Admirals in the ECHL. In 2017-2018 he joined the Fort Wayne Komets where he eventually got promoted to Head Coach in 2019-2020.

Ben has spent the last four seasons as the Komets Head Coach and recently added Director of Player Personnel to his resume during the 2021-2022 season. Over his four seasons Boudreau coached the Komets to a regular season record of 134-96-19-8 and led the Komets to a Kelly Cup Championship in 2021.
