New York Islanders defenseman Alexander Romanov loves playing hockey. Can’t you tell?
Even in the summer months, the 24-year-old has been busy, as he suited up for the NHL vs. KHL Charity Game on July 20.

He’s sneaking in another game before training camp begins.
On Aug. 10 at Arena Mystischi, Romanov will play in the Ovi Cup, a fan event that will have some tremendous stars on hand, per Hockey News Hub:
Led by Washinton Capitals forward Alex Ovechkin, whose son Sergei will take the ice with him for a second straight season, the Alexander The Great squad will include the following: Pittsburgh Penguins’ Evgeni Malkin, Utah Hockey Club’s Mikhail Sergachev, Blue Jackets’ Dmitri Voronkov, Yegor Chinakhov, Kirill Marchenko, Minnesota Wild’s Kirill Kaprizov and more.
Their opponents consist of legendary Vyacheslav Fetisov, Ilya Kovalchuk, Valeri Kamensky, Alexei Kasatonov, Vitali Prokhorov, Alexei Morozov, Vyacheslav Butsayev, Alexei Tereshchenko, Evgeni Artyukhin, and others.
The Ovi Cup has already begun, with 16 youth teams competing. The Legends Game will take place on the final day of the tournament.
