Another night, another 4-1 victory for Joseph Woll and the Toronto Maple Leafs.
What a story. Never a dull moment in Leafs Nation —that’s for sure.
We kicked off the Friday edition of Leafs Morning Take by discussing LeBron James. In case you didn’t know, Jay Rosehill is a not a big fan of King James, and from time to him, he’ll rant about it on the show. It’s hilarious every single time he does it.
Presented by DoorDash, The Appetizer zoned in on Toronto’s impressive 4-1 victory in Dallas on Thursday night. Joseph Woll made 31 saves and Morgan Rielly notched a goal and an assist. Once again, we just marvelled over Woll’s demeanour. Suffice it is to say, we’re excited. Also, we thought Tyler Bertuzzi had his best game as a Maple Leaf. Meantime, we highlighted another strong outing for William Nylander. Cha-ching!
After that, the incomparable Jackie Redmond (NHL/TNT/WWE) stopped by to talk about her beloved Maple Leafs. We touched on Toronto’s strong start, the crease, and also her undeniable belief in this team. Jackie has the passion, and we love having her on the show.
Lastly, brought to you by Wendy’s, we previewed Saturday night’s tilt in Nashville between the Leafs & Preds. Unfortunately, Luke Schenn’s banged up, so he won’t play for the Predators. That said, Ryan O’Reilly will be in the lineup against his former mates. It’s the fifth and final game of Toronto’s five-game road trip. They’re 3-1-0 so far. Most importantly, Ilya Samsonov will get the call. So fascinated to see how he plays. Finish strong, boys!
Join guest co-host Carter Hutton and me on Monday at 11 AM ET for a full recap of Leafs/Preds. Also, we’ll preview the week ahead for the Maple Leafs.
Have a great weekend!
