The Leafs are back home and preparing for their home and home with the Winnipeg Jets this week.
Of course, they’ll host the front end of the two-game set on Wednesday night at Scotiabank Arena.
We kicked off the Tuesday edition of Leafs Morning Take by discussing the five in-season coaching changes thus far and the impact on the respective teams. The Oilers have won 23 of 29 under Kris Knoblauch. In fact, four of the five squads have a winning record since making a change. Just some food for thoughts here in Leafs Nation. Furthermore, we also discussed the own goal in Arizona on Monday night for the Pittsburgh Penguins. Image that happened in Toronto? We all still remember Bryan McCabe and his gaff in Buffalo. Poor guy.
Presented by Door Dash, The Appetizer focused on the Winnipeg Jets and how the Leafs stack up against them. Unbelievably, Rick Bowness’ squad had an epic streak of 34 games in a row allowing three goals or less end on Monday night in Boston. They’re due for some regression, no?
Additionally, we dove into the Ryan Reaves situation. Is he healthy? Is he not? To-date, the 37-year-old has played a grand total of 21 games as a Maple Leaf. Yeah, that signing is turning out to be even worse than the John Klingberg one. It will be fascinating to see how this all plays out here.
Meantime, thanks to our friends over at BATL Axe, Jamie NOODLES McLennan made his first appearance of the season on the show. We talked about Reaves, Toronto’s crease, and what the Leafs should do ahead of the trade deadline.
Join us on Wednesday at 11 AM ET as we preview the front end of the home and home with the Winnipeg Jets.
