Greater Sudbury, ON – The Sudbury Wolves are pleased to announce that left winger Kieron Walton has committed to the hockey club. The 6’5â€, 205lbs Toronto native signed a standard player agreement with the club this past weekend.
“We are thrilled that Kieron has committed to the hockey club,†said Sudbury Wolves VP and General Manager Rob Papineau. “Kieron was a player we had ranked as a top tier player all season. He is a big skilled power forward who is a great skater and we feel can jump in next year and contribute to our team.â€
“It’s a dream come true and I can’t wait to get started,†said Walton. “I am really looking forward to camp this Fall and for the season ahead.â€
Walton was selected by the Wolves in the 2nd round, 28th overall, of the 2022 OHL Priority Selection. During the 2021-22 season, Walton played 43 games with the North York Rangers U16AAA where he notched 33 goals and added 27 assists. Kieron uses that size and strength to his advantage in nearly every facet of the game. His unique package of speed, power and quick hands are rare and will be a massive asset at the OHL level.
Kieron visited Sudbury this past weekend along side his twin brother Conor and goaltender Drew Gaulton to participate in the Wolves affiliate Sudbury Cubs development camp. He will return to the Nickel City in late August when the team hosts both their Orientation Camp and Training Camp.
