The Montreal Canadiens have assigned four players to the Laval Rocket, the team announced Monday.

Those assigned include forward Joshua Roy, defensemen Adam Engstrom and Logan Mailloux as well as goalie Jakub Dobes.

Roy, who was drafted by the Canadiens in the fifth round of the 2021 NHL Draft, split time between the Habs and Rocket last season. In 23 games with Montreal, he scored four goals and added five assists for nine points. With Laval, he put up 32 points in 41 games.

A 2022 third round pick of the Canadiens, Engstrom will be suiting up for his first pro season in North America in 2024-25. Playing for Rogle BK of the SHL last year, he collected four goals and 18 assists for 22 points in 51 regular season games.

Drafted by the Canadiens in the first round of the 2021 NHL Draft, Mailloux spent the majority of the 2023-24 season with the Rocket but did get into one game with the Habs (where he collected an assist). In 72 games with Laval, Mailloux put up 47 points.

Rounding out the list, Dobes rejoins the Rocket after spending his entire season there last year. In 51 regular season appearances, he posted a 24-18-6 record, a 2.93 GAA and a .906 SV%.

The Rocket open their season this Friday when they take on the Providence Bruins.
