The Premier Hockey Federation had an extended weekend due to Saturday’s postponement and played a Monday game for just the fifth time in regular season history.

Minnesota Whitecaps 3, Montreal Force 2

The Whitecaps swept their third-straight weekend series to stay perfect in 2023 and tied a franchise record with their sixth win in a row. Minnesota’s Brittyn Fleming opened the scoring just 2:12 into the contest with her second goal in as many games. Montreal captain Ann-Sophie Bettez tied the score with her ninth of the season at 10:10, then Ashleigh Brykaliuk regained the Minnesota lead at 15:01 with her first of the season. All-Star Denisa Krizova buried a rebound at 16:58 of the middle frame to put the Whitecaps up by two. The goal was her fifth of the season and second point of the game, while defender Amanda Boulier also notched her second point of the afternoon with the secondary assist. The Force made it interesting down the stretch as Alexandra Labelle tapped in her fifth of the season at the 11:01 mark of the third, but Amanda Leveille denied the rest and finished with 27 saves to earn her ninth win of the season. Tricia Deguire turned aside 28 despite the loss. Minnesota’s 10th win brings their point total to 32, just four back of second place Toronto.
