It was an action packed Saturday across the Premier Hockey Federation with new records in Boston and overtime thrillers in Buffalo and New Jersey.

Minnesota Whitecaps 1, Boston Pride 5

Corinne Schroeder added another record to her rookie resume earning the most single season wins in PHF history with 18. Her 33-save performance made the mark in Boston’s weekend and season sweep over Minnesota. Offensively the Pride outshot the Whitecaps 51-34 and had multi-point performances by Aneta Tejralova, Jillian Dempsey, and Christina Putigna who each scored a goal and an assist, and Loren Gabel with two assists to bring her league-leading point total to 38. Taylor House and Allie Thunstrom both scored singles. Minnesota’s only goal came at 16:44 of the third period on the power play but was a special milestone moment for Jonna Albers who recorded her 100th career PHF point. Jenna Brenneman stopped 30 of 33 shots in her first two periods of work and was relieved by Chantal Burke who made 16 of 18 saves in her PHF debut. Boston has reclaimed first place in the overall standings and are three points ahead of Toronto with two head-to-head games remaining. Minnesota sits fourth behind Connecticut with a head-to-head matchup of their own next weekend.

Connecticut Whale 2, Buffalo Beauts 1 OT

Kennedy Marchment extended her PHF record point-streak to 15-straight games in dramatic fashion with a two-point performance including the Whale’s overtime winner. The league’s second leading scorer ended it by burying a cross-ice feed from Taylor Girard at 2:45 of the extra frame. Connecticut’s Justine Reyes got the game’s first goal, but not until 16:56 of the second period with her fourth tally in two games. Claudia Kepler’s eighth of the year for Buffalo tied the score at 8:32 of the third. The Whale outshot the Beauts 48-20 with Abbie Ives earning the 19-save win opposite Lovisa Berndtsson who made a career-high 46 saves despite defeat. The two points moves Connecticut into third place in the standings, one point ahead of Minnesota with another game in hand. Buffalo salvaged a point in their third extra time loss of the season in as many attempts.

Montreal Force 1, Metropolitan Riveters 2 OT

Sarah Bujold was the overtime hero for the Riveters scoring her ninth goal of the season just 47 seconds into the extra frame. The newcomer was sprung on a break nearly the full length of the ice after a Force shot went wide of the net, and pushed the puck one-handed past goaltender Tricia Deguire who tried the poke-check. Ebba Berglund’s first career PHF goal initially put the Riveters on the board at 17:09 of the first period. Montreal tied things up at 9:53 of the second with Kristina Shanahan’s fourth of the season. The Riveters outshot the Force 39-28 with Katie Burt earning her fourth win of the year and third in a game that required extra time. The Riveters are actually the league’s only team that have not lost an overtime or shootout decision and carry a 3-0 record in those situations this season. Both teams remain fifth and sixth in the standings with Montreal holding the two-point lead.
