Another weekend of Premier Hockey Federation action wrapped up with a pair of games on Sunday afternoon.

Buffalo Beauts 1, Boston Pride 2 OT

Allie Thunstrom scored both Boston goals including the overtime winner 1:40 into the extra frame to give the Pride a weekend sweep over the Beauts on home ice. Her first goal was a shorthanded marker just 3:14 into the contest. Buffalo tied the game with a third period power play goal by Courtney Maud, and earned a point in the standings backed by a strong performance between-the-pipes by Lovisa Berndtsson who made 33 saves. Corinne Schroeder earned her 11th win of the season with 29 saves as Boston extended their first place lead over Toronto to three points.

Minnesota Whitecaps 4, Metropolitan Riveters 1

The Whitecaps completed the weekend road sweep and perfect four-game season series victory over the Riveters. The hosts opened the scoring for the second straight game, this time with Sarah Bujold’s seventh of the year early in the middle frame. Minnesota responded with four unanswered goals including two on the power play by Liz Schepers and top scoring defender Sidney Morin. Natalie Snodgrass added some insurance with her eighth of the year, and Denisa Krizova rounded out the offense with a third period tally. The Riveters outshot the Whitecaps 33-28 with Amanda Leveille earning the win opposite Katie Burt for the second consecutive game. Minnesota remains in third place just one point behind Toronto.
