NHL Central Scouting has released its final rankings for the 2022 NHL draft, highlighted by Kingston forward Shane Wright.
Wright has been the projected No. 1 prospect all season long, and featured on the top spot of Ryan Kennedy’s most recent draft rankings. Wright was named as the top North American skater, while USA National Team Development forward Logan Cooley sits second after a solid U-18 World Championship performance.Â
USNTDP forward Cutter Gauthier is ranked third, Winnipeg ICE’s Matthew Savoie fourth and his teammate Conor Geekie was slotted in fifth.
Slovakian forward Juraj Slafkovsky sits first in the international skater’s list, helped by a dominant Olympic performance as an underager. Finland’s Joakim Kemell, Slovakia’s Simon Nemec, Czechia’s David Jiricek and Austria’s Marco Kasper round out the top five.
For goalies, Prince George Cougars goaltender Tyler Brennan maintains the top spot in North America, while JYP’s Topias Leinonen edged out Hugo Havelid for the top spot among European goalies.
The Montreal Canadiens hold the best odds to select first at 18.5 percent.
