The Ontario Hockey League is saddened by the loss of former long-time Oshawa Generals scout Michael Craig, who passed away at the age of 46.

Michael, or Craiger as he was known around the rinks, was a scout for with the Generals’ organization for Eastern Ontario for over 15 years, scouting such players as Will Petschenig, Daniel Altshuller, Serron Noel, William Ennis, and current General Matthew Buckley to name a few. Michael was also part of the 2014-15 Memorial Cup Championship run.

Throughout his career on and off the ice, Michael has selflessly helped and assisted so many students, Special Olympic participants, OHL, and Minor Hockey players, touching and enriching countless lives.

He leaves behind his wife Melissa, the love of his life, and his two sons James and Jacob.

The OHL extends condolences to the entire Craig family, his students, and all of the players who he crossed paths with.
