The Ottawa Senators announced they have assigned forwards Jan Jenik and Zack Ostapchuk to their AHL affiliate Belleville Senators.
Both players had strong pre-seasons for Ottawa and will have the opportunity to play big minutes with Belleville.
Originally a 2018 third round selection of the Arizona Coyotes, the Senators acquired Jenik in a July trade for Egor Sokolov.

The 24-year-old notched one point in five NHL games with Arizona and 36 in 55 AHL games with Tucson last season.
Ostapchuk was a second round selection in the 2021 draft. He spent last season with Belleville and recorded 28 points in 69 games. He went pointless in seven NHL games with Ottawa last season.
The 21-year-old Ostapchuk is listed at 6’3 205 and could play his way into the Ottawa bottom-six by the end of the season.
Jenik has skill but also plays a scrappy style that would allow him to play up and down a lineup.
