Nashville Predators defenseman Spencer Stastney has been added to the Milwaukee Admirals’ roster as of Wednesday morning, according to the AHL transactions page.
The news marks the first update on Stastney since Sept. 19, when the team announced that he would miss training camp due to personal reasons.

A fifth-round pick in the 2018 NHL Draft, Stastney played 20 games for the Predators last season and recorded two goals and two assists. He also started the first three games of the Predators’ first-round playoff series against the Vancouver Canucks but went down with an upper-body injury in Game 3.
The Predators signed Stastney to a two-year, $1.65 million contract this past summer following a July arbitration hearing. The 24-year-old defenseman is on a two-way contract this season and a one-way contract for 2025-26.
The Predators did not comment further on the reason for the absence or how long it will be before Stastney returns to game action with Milwaukee and/or Nashville. It seems likely that he will go through a conditioning stint in the AHL before he returns to the NHL.
Regardless of how quickly he is expected to be back in Nashville, Stastney’s impending return is good news for the Predators, who announced Wednesday that defenseman Jeremy Lauzon is week-to-week with a lower-body injury suffered during Monday’s loss to the New Jersey Devils.
In the aftermath of Lauzon’s injury, the Predators have recalled defensemen Adam Wilsby and Nick Blankenburg from Milwaukee. The former will make his NHL debut Wednesday against the Philadelphia Flyers, while the latter will make his Predators debut in the same contest.
