The Ottawa Senators had high hopes heading into this season that their defensive woes of the past would be solved by signing former Vezina trophy winner Linus Ullmark. It worked during their first game of the season against the Florida Panthers, where they held the reigning Stanley Cup Champions to just a goal but then gave up four goals in their second game against a young, high-flying Habs offence.
It’s hard to say what to expect from this Senators team as they’ve played two very different games on the defensive end. The LA Kings on the other hand, have established themselves as a defensive minded team after finishing with the third-best goals against average last season (2.56) placing only behind the Jets and Panthers.
This could be a very low-scoring game but if the Kings do get on the board it should be with the help of Quinton Byfield.

Bet: Quinton Byfield Over 0.5 points (+110)
The Kings 2020 first round pick has started to find his way in the NHL after finishing with 20 goals and 35 assists for 55 points last season. He has two points in as many games so far this season and enters a favorable matchup versus Ottawa. In two career games versus the Senators, Byfield has points in both games with a goal and an assist.
Ullmark will be in net which makes things tricky but the Kings have won six of their last seven games versus Ottawa with three or more goals in five of the six wins.
Ullmark has also lost three straight versus the Kings with each game going to overtime. It should make for a close game but Byfield should get on the board. A $10 bet would turn into $21 if Byfield gets a point.
