Rangers Call Up Matt Rempe’s Replacement

by admin

With Matt Rempe going to the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League, the New York Rangers have recalled Jake Leschyshyn.

After playing in just two out of New York’s first seven games, the Rangers thought it would be best for Rempe’s development to play in the AHL.

Now, Leschyshyn comes in to take Rempe’s spot.

Leschyshyn was drafted by the Vegas Golden Knights in the second round of the 2017 NHL Draft.

The Rangers claimed Leschyshyn off of waivers on January 11, 2023 and he’s been with the organization ever since. He’s played in 14 games for the Rangers, but is yet to record a point.

This season, the 25-year-old has recorded one goal, two assists and three points in five games for the Hartford Wolf Pack.

Leschyshyn isn’t expected to play in the the Rangers’ Saturday night matchup against the Anaheim Ducks.
