A New York Rangers fan is facing assault charges after video captured him sucker-punching a Tampa Bay Lightning fan following Game 5 on Thursday evening.
The Tampa Bay Lightning won the game 3-1 to take a 3-2 series lead.
Video posted by Scott Kaplan showed a Rangers fan walking behind another man before turning around and throwing a punch at the unsuspecting fan.
The attacker was identified as 29-year-old James Anastasio, who was charged with two counts of assault, disorderly conduct and harassment after hitting another fan in the face who came to confront him.
Local police found Anastasio, who had not left the arena at the time. Police said both victims declined medical attention.
In case it isn’t clear, just don’t attack someone.
