The Rockford IceHogs have named forward Brett Seney captain, the team announced Saturday.

Defenseman Isaak Phillips and forward Cole Guttman will serve as assistant captains to begin the season.

Drafted by the New Jersey Devils in the sixth round of the 2015 NHL Draft, Seney is suiting up for his third season with the IceHogs. Since turning pro in 2018, Seney has scored 93 goals and added 164 assists for 257 points in 319 career AHL regular season games.

A 2020 fifth-round pick of the Chicago Blackhawks, Phillips is in his fifth season with the IceHogs. In 2023-24, he collected four goals and 10 assists for 14 points in 29 games. Throughout his pro career, he has also seen 53 career NHL regular season games, putting up 11 points.

A product of Northridge, Calif., Guttman was a 2017 sixth-round pick of the Tampa Bay Lightning but never signed with the team. Splitting time last season between the Blackhawks and IceHogs, Guttman collected eight points in 27 NHL games and 40 points in 39 AHL games.

With the IceHogs having won their first game of the season, their next game is at home on Friday when they take on the Milwaukee Admirals.
