After starting their season with three straight regulation losses, the Buffalo Sabres picked up a massive 5-2 win over the Florida Panthers last night (Oct. 12). With this, they avoided starting their season with a four-game losing streak and will now look to build off it from here.

Now, the Sabres have a big opportunity in front of them. While they will play each of their next three games on the road, they are all against teams that missed the playoffs last season: the Pittsburgh Penguins, Columbus Blue Jackets, and Chicago Blackhawks.
With this, the Sabres have a wonderful chance to pick up some much-needed wins to climb up the standings. However, for them to successfully win at least two of these games, they will need to replicate their recent play against the Panthers. If they go back to how they played their first three games of the season, the Sabres will be in trouble.
We will need to wait and see how the Sabres perform in their next three games from here. After them, they will play a legitimate contender in the Dallas Stars on Oct. 22.
