ST. LOUIS — The St. Louis Blues made a haul of roster cuts on Sunday ahead of the start of training camp for the Springfield Thunderbirds on Monday.

The Blues assigned 13 players to their AHL affiliate, including defensemen Jeremie Biakabutuka, Michael Buchinger, Marc-Andre Gaudet, Samuel Johannesson, Leo Loof and Anton Malmstrom, goalies Will Cranley and Colten Ellis, forwards Tanner Dickinson, Dalibor Dvorsky, Aleksanteri Kaskimaki, Dylan Peterson and Marcus Sylvegard. Antoine Dorion, a seventh-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft, was assigned to his junior team in Quebec of the QMJHL.

That brings the training camp roster down to 36, which includes injured 2024 first-round pick in defenseman Adam Jiricek. Among those still in camp include forwards Zach Dean, Mackenzie MacEachern, Mathias Laferriere and Hugh McGing, defensemen Corey Schueneman and Hunter Skinner, and goalie Vadim Zherenko. Forward Simon Robertsson (third round, 2021) is nursing an upper-body injury and is listed as day to day.

Dvorsky, who put up 88 points (45 goals, 43 assists) with Sudbury of the Ontario Hockey League last season, was given an opportunity to make his first NHL roster out of training camp but it’s evident the next step is to play in the AHL first. He had no points while playing in three of the Blues’ first four preseason games.

The Blues (1-3-0 in the preseason), will next play at home on Tuesday against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
