SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers General Manager Bill Zito announced today that forward Kai Schwindt has agreed to terms on a three-year, entry-level contract. Additionally, Schwindt has been returned to his junior club, the Mississauga Steelheads of the Ontario Hockey League.
“Kai is a competitive, high-effort individual who is able to use his size and skill effectively,” said Zito. “We’re excited to welcome him and watch his continued development within our Panthers organization.”
Schwindt, 18, skated in 68 Ontario Hockey league (OHL) games with the Mississauga Steelheads in 2021-22, recording 12 goals and five assists for a total of 17 points. He notched two assists in nine games in the postseason with the Steelheads.
Undrafted, the 6-foot-4, 193-pound native of Kitchener, Ont., attended the Florida Panthers 2022-23 Training Camp, scoring a goal in Florida’s opening preseason contest against the Nashville Predators on Sept. 26.
