Business has picked up, folks. I wish the Stanley Cup Playoffs started tomorrow.
The Family Day Weekend festivities started late on Friday night when Kyle Dubas shocked the hockey world by acquiring Ryan O’Reilly and Noel Acciari from the St. Louis Blues. Even though we’ve had a few days to process things, Rosie and I were still buzzin’ to kick off the Tuesday edition of Leafs Morning Take.
Eventually, we did dissect the back-to-back against Montreal and Chicago. Additionally, I wondered if all these losses to the bottom feeders would ultimately end up costing Toronto home ice advantage in the first round against Tampa. Rosie agreed. With 25 games left, it’s not looking good in that respect, but we’ll see how it all plays out. Also, we previewed Leafs and Sabres tonight from the KeyBank Center in Buffalo. Personally, I can’t wait to see that building littered in the blue and white once again —that’s for sure.
Meantime, another show, another great guest. NHL Insider Chris Johnston dropped by to share his thoughts on the big trade plus also look ahead to what could be next for Kyle Dubas and company.
The NHL trade deadline is slated for March 3rd.
Lastly, red-hot bettor extraordinaire Jay Rosehill was at the helm once again today for our PointsBet Canada bet of the day.
