With Cody Glass being traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins along with two draft picks in exchange for prospect Jordan Frasca, we wanted to see if this surprise deal worked in NHL 24.
In what is seemingly a cap dump for Nashville, the Penguins benefit by acquiring the sixth overall pick in the 2017 draft. The 25-year-old makes $2.5 million on the 2024-25 season and then becomes a RFA.
Glass recorded 13 points in 43 games with Nashville last season, while Frasca scored 33 points in 40 games in the ECHL, and went pointless in three AHL games.
In NHL 24 the Penguins ecstatically accepted the deal when proposed by Nashville, though it put them right up against the salary cap ceiling.
The Predators were not too keen to do the deal when proposed by Pittsburgh and denied the offer, signaling the necessity of doing the trade for cap purposes in real life.
