As expected, Sheldon Keefe will be back behind the Toronto Maple Leafs bench next season. According to multiple sources, Leafs general manager Brad Treliving confirmed as much on Tuesday ahead of the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.
What we didn’t necessarily expect was what TSN’s Darren Dreger reported on Tuesday: Keefe will receive an extension this summer.

Keefe, 42, has coached the Toronto Maple Leafs for practically four seasons (took over for Babcock in November of 2019) and although they only have one series win to their name with him as the bench boss, they have been a very, very good regular season team with him.
