GORHAM, Maine – The Soaring Eagles traveled to the University of Southern Maine to take on the Huskies on Saturday evening. After scoring twice in the second period and taking a 2-1 lead into the final period of the match, a USM goal at the 18:36 mark tied the game and sent it to overtime. In overtime, the Soaring Eagles conceded again just 39 seconds into the period. They could not find an equalizer and fell by a final of 3-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After a scoreless first 20 minutes, Elmira took the lead in the second quarter courtesy of a Chance Gorman ’24 goal at the 1:22 mark on a power play. Jordan Gonzalez ’24 collected the assist for the Soaring Eagles.
- The Huskies got one back just over a minute later, putting the two teams back on level terms early in the second period.
- The Soaring Eagles took the lead again at the 15:37 mark in the second period when Nicholas Domitrovic ’24 put the puck between the pipes for his sixth goal of the season. That goal gives Domitrovic a goal in every game this season for the Soaring Eagles.
- Elmira took its 2-1 advantage into the third period and held onto the lead until the 18:36 mark when the Huskies netted one on a power play. This tied the game at two and the contest went to overtime.
- Southern Maine did not take long to get the go-ahead goal in the overtime period, scoring again on a power play 39 seconds into the period.
- Elmira could not find a goal to tie the game and it ended in a 3-2 defeat.
- Kyle Curtin ’26 started the game between the pipes for Elmira and recorded 29 saves for the Soaring Eagles.
