After being placed on waivers yesterday by the Carolina Hurricanes, forward Tyson Jost has cleared waivers and been assigned to the Chicago Wolves of the AHL.
Jost, 26, signed a one-year, $775,000 deal with the Canes this offseason but after a pre-season in which he didn’t do much to standout, there just wasn’t a spot on the roster for him, especially with the play of rookie Jackson Blake.

The versatile forward has 456 games of NHL experience under his belt along with 57 goals and 140 points.
The 10th overall pick in the 2016 draft has played for three other teams, but has bounced between the NHL and AHL the last few years.
Jost’s cap hit will not count against the Hurricanes while he is in the AHL.
