The Vegas Golden Knights claimed Raphael Lavoie from the Edmonton Oilers on waivers for the second time and have now assigned him to the Henderson Silver Knights.
The Oilers had placed Lavoie on waivers twice, and both times the Golden Knights made successful claims. Because there were other teams placing claims on Lavoie, neither team could assign him to their AHL club without the use of waivers.
However, the second time the Golden Knights placed a claim on Lavoie, no other team did, meaning they can send him to the AHL without the use of waivers. He’ll now report to the Silver Knights and play on his two-way contract.
The 6’4, right winger has played in just seven NHL games since he was drafted but has been a solid AHL player. In 202 games he’s scored 71 goals and 131 points.
The waiver battle ends with the Golden Knights taking a young player with skill from a rival Pacific division foe.
