Six Erie Otters players will spend early July at an NHL development camp.

Second-round 2023 draft pick Carey Terrance headlines the half-dozen Otters named to a development camp roster this week. Most team camps, which began the weekend before July 4 and will conclude this week, are conducted to develop and evaluate on-ice skills.

Erie Otters goaltender Nolan Lalonde, center, stops a Hamilton Bulldogs shot inside Erie Insurance Arena in Erie on Feb. 28. Lalonde is one of six current or former Otters players assigned to an NHL development camp.

The following active Otters have been assigned to a camp, according to ottershockey.com:

Carey Terrance, Anaheim Ducks

Terrance was drafted 59th overall by the Ducks in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft, Erie’s lone selection.

An alternate captain his second year with Erie, Terrance scored 30 goals and dished out 17 assists in 67 games last season. The play-making center was ranked 38th among North American skaters in NHL Central Scouting’s final rankings.
