A stunning 21-goal weekend for the high-flying Big Red helped Cornell jump into NCAA.com correspondent Jordan Menard’s latest Power 5 women’s hockey rankings.
Here’s how the rest of Menard’s rankings look after January’s final weekend of women’s hockey.
No. 1 Ohio State (Previous: 1) — The Bucks haven’t dropped a game since Dec. 1, and after picking up a pair wins over St. Cloud this weekend, the Buckeyes are rolling strong. Jenna Buglioni earned a pair of points on Friday, and Makenna Webster scored in both games.
No. 2 Wisconsin (Previous: 2) — The Badgers earned a pair of top-10 wins over Minnesota-Duluth at the weekend, but it was Saturday’s game that I should talk about. Going into the third period, the Badgers were trailing 4-1, but after scoring two goals in 30 seconds the Badgers lit a fire. Kirsten Simms would go on to score the game winner.
What a comeback by @BadgerWHockey! 🤯

No. 3 Colgate (Previous: 3) — The Raiders are on a seven-game win streak, and with a pair of wins over Harvard and Dartmouth this weekend where they scored 15 goals, Colgate stays as No. 3.
No. 4 Clarkson (Previous: 5) — The Golden Knights played St. Lawrence this weekend where Abby Hustler scored in both games. Clarkson will face off against my No. 3 team, Colgate, this weekend.
No. 5 Cornell (Previous: NR) — The Big Red scored 21 goals this weekend — that’s right, 21! In a 14-0 shutout win over Dartmouth on Friday and then a 7-2 win over Harvard on Saturday, Izzy Daniel earned seven points on the weekend.
