The Zurich Lions (NL) announced, today, that they have signed Ottawa 67’s forward Vinzenz Rohrer to a professional contract, that will see him return to Switzerland for the 2023-24 season.
Rohrer, 18, has spent the last two seasons with the Barber Poles, having been selected 27th overall by Ottawa in the 2021 CHL Import Draft. The Feldkirch, Austria native has suited up in 118 regular season games; recording a total of 44 goals and 53 assists, for 97 points. He earned Ontario Hockey League Second Team All-Rookie honours following his first season, and was subsequently drafted in the third round, 75th overall, by the Montreal Canadiens.
Internationally, Rohrer has twice been named to Austria’s World Junior Hockey Championship squad, and served as their captain for the 2023 iteration of the tournament.
