Greater Sudbury, ON – The Sudbury Wolves are pleased to announce that defenceman Conor Walton has committed to the hockey club. The 6’3”, 194 lbs Toronto native signed a standard player agreement with the club this past weekend.

“We are thrilled to have Conor commit to our hockey club,” said Sudbury Wolves VP and General Manager Rob Papineau. “He is already over 6’3 and is still growing and filling in. Defencemen typically need a bit more time to transition to the OHL and we look forward to him continuing to develop, get stronger next season and becoming a great defender for our team for many years to come.”

“I am extremely honoured to sign with the Wolves and can’t wait to get started in Sudbury,” said Walton.

Walton was selected by the Wolves in the 4th round of the 2022 OHL Priority Selection, 82nd overall. In 47 games with the North York Rangers U16AAA, Conor picked up 3 goals and 7 assists.  His play can be described as a physical, two-way defender who utilizes his physical attributes to become tough to play against. His strength and competitiveness allow him to out muscle opponents to win pucks and position battles.

Conor visited Sudbury this past weekend alongside his twin brother Kieron and goaltender Drew Gaulton to participate in the Wolves affiliate Sudbury Cubs development camp. He will return to the Nickel City in late August when the team hosts both their Orientation Camp and Training Camp.
