Lucas Rodriguez commits to Generals – Ontario Hockey League

Oshawa, Ont. – The Oshawa Generals organization is extremely excited to announce the commitment of Lucas Rodriguez to the team. Rodriguez was selected 87th overall in the fifth round of the 2022 OHL Priority Selection on April 29th.

From Mississauga, Ont., Rodriguez spent the 2021-2022 season with the Mississauga Senators of the Greater Toronto Hockey League.

The 6-foot-1, 174lb. defencemen appeared in 20 games with Senators, scoring one goal and adding nine assists. Rodriguez’s Senators also made the final of the 2022 OHL Cup, where he played seven games and scored one goal and six assists. The Senators won the championship game 6-2 over the Toronto Jr. Canadiens. Rodriguez had one assist in the Championship final and finished fifth in tournament scoring for defencemen.

“I couldn’t be more excited and honoured to join the Oshawa Generals,” said Rodriguez. “It’s a fantastic organization and city with some of the best fans in the OHL. I want everyone to know I work hard, play hard and I am committed to making an impact on the team.”

Rodriguez says he’s most looking forward to getting to Oshawa and starting his OHL journey.

“I look forward to the main camp later this summer and to significantly contribute to the team’s continued success this upcoming season and in the years to come.”
