Well, that was an ugly night in Edmonton.
Lucky for the Leafs, they’ll be right back in the mix tonight in Calgary when they tangle with the Flames.
We kicked off the Thursday edition of Leafs Morning Take by addressing Boston’s acquisition of Tyler Bertuzzi. After that, Rosey had a lot to say about Justin Holl’s scrap last night with Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. Oh boy.
In addition to recapping Leafs/Oilers and previewing Leafs/Flames, we were joined by Sportsnet’s Nick Kypreos. As per usual, the former Leaf didn’t hold back launching hot take after hot take.

Personally, I can appreciate the no sugar coating approach. A lot is on the line for the Maple Leafs over the new few months.
Meantime, for the PointsBet Canada bet of the day, we looked at the OVER for the Seattle/Detroit game. The Kraken have been leaky defensively lately and the Red Wings are selling the farm. Translation: Time for some offence, baby.
Rosey and I will be joining the Daily Faceoff team tomorrow (Noon ET – 4 PM ET) for trade deadline coverage, which means no Leafs Morning Take. We’ll be back with you on Monday at 11 AM ET.
