PINE VALLEY, N.Y. – Lexi Hoffmann ’24 netted a goal and two assists while Madi Morton ’24 notched a pair of assists as the Elmira College women’s hockey program recorded an 8-0 shutout against Johnson & Wales University on Saturday afternoon at the Murray Athletic Center.
Hoffmann and Morton, along with fifth-year skaters Claire Meeder ’23, Holley Riva ’23, Kelly Millins ’23, and Chloe Beaubien ’23 were honored on Saturday as part of Senior Day at the Murray Athletic Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- It would be the Soaring Eagles that opened the scoring in the contest as Alayna Toole ’26 found the back of the net at the 4:58 mark of the first period to make it 1-0. Sabrina Shvartsman ’25 provided the assist and extended her point streak to four consecutive games for EC.
- Elmira connected on its first of two power-play goals in the contest at the 12:08 mark of the first period as Emily Lenzen ’24 followed a shot from Erika Goleniak ’25 to find the back of the net and make it 2-0.
- Katie Manning ’25 closed the scoring in the opening frame with an unassisted goal at the 18:14 mark as she extended the lead for the Purple & Gold to 3-0.
- The Soaring Eagles netted their third short-handed goal of the season against the Wildcats just over five minutes into the second period as McKenzie Schmidt ’25 beat the goalkeeper five-hole off a rush to extend the lead to 4-0. Madi Morton ’24 and Lexi Hoffmann ’24 registered the assists for EC.
- Hoffmann netted her first goal of the season at the 13:15 mark of the second period to make it 5-0 in favor of the Purple & Gold. Hoffmann’s goal would be set up by Lenzen, who notched an assist for a third consecutive game.
- Elmira added three more goals in the third period as Emma Bradbury ’26 pushed the lead to 6-0 as Morton added her second assist of the contest for the Soaring Eagles. Claire Meeder ’23 followed with her first goal of the contest as Hoffmann and Goleniak added the helpers to make it 7-0.
- The goal-scoring would be rounded out at the 18:20 mark of the third period as MK Boyle ’25 lit the lamp with Goleniak notching her third assist of the contest for the Purple & Gold. Chloe Beaubien ’23 notched her fourth shutout of the season after making 22 saves to improve to 6-1-1.
UP NEXT: The Soaring Eagles hit the road for the final weekend of the regular season as EC travels to Plymouth State on Friday for a 6:00 P.M. faceoff against the Panthers before heading to Castleton on Saturday.
