Domitrovic, Gonzalez, and Kennedy Garner NEHC All-Conference Honors for Men’s Ice Hockey

MARSHFIELD, Mass. – The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) released its end-of-the-year awards on Thursday afternoon with the Elmira College men’s ice hockey program garnering three all-conference selections.
 
Nicholas Domitrovic ’24, Jordan Gonzalez ’24, and Shawn Kennedy ’24 each received All-NEHC honors, as the Elmira trio were named to the 2023 All-NEHC Second Team.
 
This is the first All-NEHC selection for the Ottawa, Ontario native as Domitrovic skated in each of Elmira’s 25 regular-season contests. Domitrovic tallied 19 points through 18 NEHC contests as he finished second on the squad with eight goals and 11 assists to go along with three power-play goals.
 
Domitrovic has put together a career year in his final season with the Soaring Eagles tallying 15 goals, 18 assists, and 33 points. The 18 goals ranked fifth in the conference during the regular season, while his 33 points were fourth overall.
 
A native of Hamburg, New York, Gonzalez earned his first All-NEHC selection for the Purple & Gold after skating 24 games and finishing with 17 points and a +20 plus/minus rating while defending the defensive zone for Elmira.
 
Gonzalez tallied five goals, eight assists, and 13 points through 17 NEHC contests to go along with a +10 plus/minus rating. He set career highs this season with five goals, 12 assists, and 17 points while blocking 43 shots on the defensive end of the ice.
 
Kennedy, a native of Bainsville, Ontario, earned his first All-NEHC selection for the Soaring Eagles after guiding the team through 18 conference contests with five goals and 16 assists for a total of 21 points. Overall, Kennedy skated in 24 contests for Elmira and paced the team with 13 goals, 23 assists, and 36 points.
 
The 23 assists and 36 points this season are both career-highs for Kennedy, who ranks second in the conference in points and first with his 23 assists. In Division III, he ranks fifth in assists per game and seventh in points per game.
