GLOUCESTER, Mass. – The American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) is once again recognizing collegiate varsity ice hockey players who compiled exceptional results in the classroom during the 2023-24 season with the announcement of the eighth annual “Krampade All-American Scholars.” To qualify, a student-athlete must have attained a 3.75 GPA for each semester, and had to appear in 40% of the team’s games. Exceptions were granted to injured players and back-up goaltenders. Schools also were required to be members of the AHCA.

The names of 945 Division II-III men (513) and women (432) are being released June 17, their Division I counterparts being announced separately the same day. Of particular note are the 13 athletes who not only earned this academic status, but were also voted as CCM/AHCA All-Americans for their on-ice play. Included from Elmira on this list is Madi Morton ’24, who earned First Team honors from the AHCA in early March for her performance during the season.

From the men’s side, Daniel Dimon ’24, Nicholas Domitrovic ’24, Birch Gorman ’27, Mitch Haight ’24, Amedeo Mastrangeli ’24, Stephan McDonald ’24, and Cole Tucker ’25 were represented. For Haight, it marks the third time he has earned the honor from the AHCA, while Dimon & Mastrangeli each earned their second honor with the AHCA after doing so in 2021. Domitrovic, McDonald, Tucker, and B. Gorman are each earning their first representation on the list.

On the women’s side, Morton served as one of 13 nationally to receive Academic, and athletic All-American honors from the AHCA. Additionally, she is now a four-time recipient of the honor. Seven others from Elmira received the recognition, as Lexi Hoffmann ’24, Katie Manning ’25, Mandy McCarrick ’26, Claire Meeder ’23, Kelly Millins ’23, Sophie Compeau ’25, and Sabrina Shvartsman ’25 each received the honor. Compeau, Manning, and McCarrick, and Shvartsman, each earned their second Scholar-All American honors from the AHCA.
