MARSHFIELD, Mass. – The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) announced its weekly award winners on Monday, with Leonie-Louise Kuehberger ’25 earning Goaltender of the Week accolades for Women’s Ice Hockey.
The Hingham, Massachusetts native recorded a pair of shutouts through two games as the fourth-ranked Elmira College women’s ice hockey program notched a pair of victories against William Smith College.
Kuehberger turned away 29 shots on goal for the Purple & Gold including 16 in a 5-0 victory on Saturday against the Herons. Kuehberger also recorded 13 saves in a 6-0 victory for the Soaring Eagles on Friday night.
Kuehberger has three shutouts between the pipes this season for the Soaring Eagles and has not allowed a goal since the first period of the season-opener against Utica. This is the second NEHC Goaltender of the Week honor for Kuehberger, who earned the nod last season on November 8, 2021.
The Soaring Eagles host a pair of NEHC contests this weekend as UMass Boston and Johnson & Wales University (RI) both make the trip to the Murray Athletic Center. Puck drop on Friday is scheduled for 6:00 P.M. at The Domes.
