The Seattle Kraken announced Sunday that they’ve signed Kitchener Rangers forward Carson Rehkopf to a three-year entry-level NHL contract.
Rehkopf, who was Seattle’s second round (50th overall) pick in the 2023 NHL Draft, comes off a tremendous season in Kitchener that saw him score 52 goals, add 43 assists and finish with 95 points over 60 games. He added 11 points (6-5–11) in 10 playoff games. Rehkopf also represented Canada at the 2024 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships, registering four points (2-2–4) in five games.
Originally Kitchener’s first round (17th overall) pick in the 2021 OHL Priority Selection, Rehkopf has played three seasons in Kitchener, amassing 187 points (100-87–187) over 193 regular season games. He won a Hlinka Gretzky Cup gold medal with Canada in 2022.
Rehkopf joins other recent OHL talent in joining the Kraken organization in Shane Wright (Windsor Spitfires), Logan Morrison (Ottawa 67’s), Ryan Winterton (London Knights) and Tye Kartye (Soo Greyhounds).
