50 Cent once vouched for the venerated King of New York crown and he’s still trolling Boston fans whenever possible, this time on behalf of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The 49-year-old rapper was in Boston for a scheduled performance and re-entered the pop culture zeitgeist on admittedly uneasy terms as his iconic ‘Many Men’ was often used to parody the assassination attempt on Donald Trump. 50 Cent leaned into it, superimposing Trump’s image over his head on the Get Rich or Die Tryin’ album cover.
During the performance, 50 wore a Maple Leafs hat, perhaps with the idea of trolling some Bruins fans in attendance. It’s admittedly difficult to irritate Boston sports fans, especially recently: the Celtics won 64 games and the NBA title pretty comfortably, Boston PWHL lost in the inaugural Walter Cup Final, the Bruins did defeat the Maple Leafs after all, while the Red Sox are gaining ground on 50 Cent’s beloved Yankees.
🚨 Anyone have 50 Cent wearing a Leafs hat while performing in Boston on their 2024 Bingo card? 😎⤵️

For what it’s worth, the crowd in attendance didn’t seem remotely bothered by 50 Cent’s attire during his performance of Many Men shown above, and frankly, why would they? It’s interesting on some level, that 50 Cent would rock the Maple Leafs logo when he became a trending topic on social media inadvertently over the weekend, but perhaps it’s pure coincidence born out of the team’s institutional reach across North America.
It’s been a tough moment for Toronto’s hold in the pop culture zeitgeist this summer, particularly in the world of hip-hop with Drake considered to be the unanimous loser in his feud with Kendrick Lamar. It would be silly to suggest that 50 Cent putting on for Toronto with a brief gesture can be considered a win it all, but if it irritated some Bruins fan, spoilt with the riches of every major North American championship within their fingertips, we’ll take what we can get!
