The Florida Panthers Opening Night roster is beginning to take shape.
A day after Florida placed Rasmis Asplund, Zac Dalpe, Tobias Bjornfot and Jaycob Megna on waivers, the team announced they had also assigned a few players to AHL Charlotte.
Forwards Josh Davies and Kai Schwindt, defenseman Mikulas Hovorka and goaltender Cooper Black are heading to Checkers training camp.
If the aforementioned players who were placed on waivers clear, they are also expected to report to camp in Charlotte.
Checkers camp began earlier this week.
Among the players still on the Panthers roster are forwards Sandis Vilmanis, Will Lockwood, Patrick Giles, Jonah Gadjovich and Mackie Samoskevich and defensemen Matt Kiersted, Uvis Balinskis and Nathan Staios.
Florida held a practice on Friday before flying up to Quebec City for their final preseason game against the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday night.
